Oftentimes truckers get a bad reputation for the assumptions that people make about what they do and we want to help clear them up. If you are still considering a career in the industry then this list is for you too.
3 facts about truck drivers you probably didn’t know:
- They want to drive safely
- They are just like you
- They deliver all of your essentials
They want to drive safely
All truckers have a family at home that they want to make it back home for. It’s important that when driving that you are aware that due to the size of their vehicle they need more time to do the things a normal vehicle does in seconds including accelerating, braking, turning, and stopping. Please be patient as they are driving their truck as they were trained to do in order to keep other vehicles safe on the road.
They are just like you
While some may work in an office environment or in manufacturing plants, truckers work on the road. That means that when you see them they are currently on the clock. They may have a spouse or kids back home that they are looking forward to seeing, they may have a birthday party or wedding to attend this weekend and they want to do their job safely so they can return home.
They deliver all of your essentials
All of the things that show up on the store shelves or get delivered to your home get there by truckers. Shampoo, cereals, clothes, shoes, etc. all get on the shelves thanks to the countless hours that truck drivers put in on the road. That’s why it’s so important that when we are driving we understand the importance of what they are doing because they are doing it for you.
