The average lifespan of a truck driver is 58 years old. This number could be even lower if drivers are not taking care of themselves and lowering their blood pressure.
A truck driver’s job is not an easy one. You need to have a lot of stamina, be able to work long hours, and know how to drive 50 or more tons of cargo down the road. But with all that driving comes stress – from the traffic on the highway, from being away from home for weeks at a time, and just being away in general. One thing you can do to make your life as a truck driver easier is lowering your blood pressure so you don’t get stressed out by it!
To stay healthy while on the road try these tips:
1. Eat a healthy diet
2. Maintain your weight by eating right and exercising
3. Take medications for high blood pressure
4. Get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water, and avoid alcohol consumption
5. Reduce stress levels by practicing good time management skills
6. Avoid tobacco products and caffeine to reduce the likelihood of having a heart attack or stroke
There are many things you can do to lower your blood pressure so that you can stay on the road. We’ve provided a few tips for how you might be able to improve your health and avoid some of the problems common in truck drivers, but we want to know what has been most helpful for you?
